GREDA Welcomes Two Knox College Interns
GREDA welcomes its latest intern, Emily Whelchel. Ms. Whelchel is aKnox College senior majoring in Asian Studies with a concentration on Chinese and a minor in Business and Marketing. Not only dedicated to her studies, Ms. Whelchel holds leadership positions in the women’s fraternity Pi Beta Phi and the Greek leadership organization Order of Omega. She originates from Defiance, Missouri and is excited to get some hands-on experience as the Marketing Intern for GREDA. Ms. Whelchel says, “I am very happy to have the opportunity to work with GREDA. Everyone is so friendly and actively involved in the Galesburg community; they really inspire a sense of family. After only a short time here, I know this experience will help me in all my future endeavors”. Ms. Whelchel will be with GREDA until she graduates in the spring.
GREDA welcomes its newest intern, Tao Zhang. Mr. Zhang is a Knox College senior majoring in Economics and also studying Business and Management and German as minors. As a student at Knox College, Mr. Zhang maintains high academic excellence and participates in a variety of on-campus and off-campus activities. He is currently the Co-president of Chinese club and is also an amateur boxer at Galesburg Youth Athletic Club. Mr. Zhang comes from Chengdu, China and looks forward to gaining some real-world working experience as the Time Bank Coordinator for GREDA until he graduates in the spring. “This is a precious opportunity for me to dive into the Galesburg communities and make an impact on them. I can not wait to work with the diverse population here and make ties between neighborhoods tighter”, says Mr. Zhang.
